About:

Yuri Elkaim's balanced approach to fitness, health and wellness comes from his extensive experience in the fitness and wellness industry as one of the country's leading personal trainers and wellness coaches. Yuri graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Physical Education and Health from the University of Toronto and is also a Certified Kinesiologist, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, a former professional soccer player in Canada and France, and current Head Strength and Conditioning & Nutrition Coach for the nationally ranked University of Toronto Men’s Soccer program.

He has been regarded by many as Canada's top fitness and wellness expert.

A frequent contributor to health and wellness publications and a highly sought after speaker, Yuri’s understanding of functional exercise, energizing nutrition, and "success psychology" has helped thousands of people around the world achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

He is currently the founder and owner of Total Wellness Consulting, Canada's leader in developing innovative fitness and nutrition programs and technologies helping people reach their wellness goals. The company is also the first to market in Canada with fitness workouts for iPods/MP3 players.

Before founding Total Wellness Consulting, Yuri enjoyed playing professional soccer for 3 years, in Canada with the Toronto Lynx (USL/A-League) and in France with Lille OSC (1st division). He was also a 2-time All-Canadian with the University of Toronto Men’s Soccer team before acting as the Head Strength & Conditioning and Nutrition Coach for the nationally ranked University of Toronto Men’s Soccer program.

His training specialties include core conditioning, full-body functional training, sport-specific training, weight loss focused circuit training, muscle building, strength and power training, group training, and prehab. His nutritional approach revolves around alkalizing and energizing the body through living, fresh, and enzyme-rich foods. Yuri believes that most (if not all) ailments can be prevented and/or healed through the application of this philosophy. As a fomer professional athlete he can also attest to its potency in improving athletic performance.

Out of the need to help more people get active without the financial cost of hiring a trainer, Yuri also created his revolutionary Fitter U™ series of MP3 guided workouts, the only progressive lineup of iPod/MP3 workouts in Canada. These one-of-a-kind "audio" workouts are the next best thing to actually working with Yuri himself!

His approach to health and fitness is all about balance, both physically and mentally, and achieving one’s true potential.
