I had a crazy weekend. It is hard being a raw foodist in this society of cooked meat eaters...especially when you live with them and are the primary food provider! I broke down on Friday night and ate a spoonful of mashed potatoes with my salad....(I LOVE mashed potatoes with my salads strange as it sounds!)
On Saturday it was my husbands birthday and to celebrate the two of us went out for dinner to Boston Pizza. I ordered a salad and then salivated over his thai chicken bites....Normally I wouldn't care, but I think because I have made the choice to be raw my conscience is testing me?! Then I lost it all Sunday night at my husbands uncles place where they had a chocolate fondue....mmmmmmmmmm chocolate. I LOVE chocolate more than mashed potatoes :) (Did I mention I found this GREAT raw Chocolate sauce made by Artisana called Raw Organic Vegan Cacao Bliss? Well, that isn't what I had with the fondue fruit...it was melted chipits chocolate chips mixed with half and half cream.....) Its all okay though...I am paying for it today with a nice headache.
So far I know zero other practicing raw vegans. How do I stay focused...everyone around me is blurring my vision.
It has been two weeks since I decided to become %100 raw. I read the "Sunfood Diet Success System" by David Wolfe and and was amazed at how little I knew about the deceptions of the food we eat, and that the general public is ignorant to how horrible our diets are! I had no idea.
I decided for a couple of reasons to go %100 raw...one is that I have had a sinus head/infection for over 3 years. The other is....I want to feel good! When I was on my non raw diet I felt I was walking around in a haze and not comprehending things. I feel like a veil has been lifted! Now I can function (even though I am currently detoxing from my previous toxic lifestyle.... My sinus' have been draining for the last two days YAYAY!! FINALLY),
Now what to do about my family? I have a 2 year old Daughter Ellie, and a 4 year old son Caiden....AND a Hubby who is addicted to cigarettes, coffee, coke and MEAT. He is an acidic time bomb waiting to happen! I will lead by example...Just today my two year old was helping me juice kale and greens and she even tasted for herself! "mmmm its yummy mummy!" (while grimacing...).
Well, I am happy to have found this web site. I am excited because I know being a raw vegan is going to change a lot of things in my life!
